Oktoberfest is the most famous beer festival and the world`s biggest funfair. Oktoberfest is holding annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. The first Oktoberfest started on 12th October 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Princess Therese of Sachsen-Hildburghausen and Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. On that wedding were invited all citizens of the city – Munich to a meadow (Wies`n) located in front of the city tower. Later in 1896 was built the first giant beer tents from Munich businessmen. Oktoberfest is 16 days festival that starts from late September. This festival is an important part of German and Bavarian life and culture. A lot of cities across the world are celebrating Oktoberfest modeled after this original Munich event in Germany. And now is your time to enjoy. If you found a place for you let`s beer up. Order your Big Glass of Beer and have adventure in Oktoberfest event. German beer companies each have a tent that sells their brand. However, without doubt the best and rowdiest place is The Hofbrauhaus Tent! There are no charges for entrance in the beer tents. All Oktoberfest is free except for the rides and attractions. You can sit inside or outside of the tents. Reservation is possible but you need to make that at least in January for the next Oktoberfest. If it`s in your plan to visit Oktoberfest that is better to book hotel several months before you go.

On Oktoberfest there are 14 large beer tents but that is not enough places to deal with a crowd. It will be always place for you if you are alone or with your partner. If you are bigger group and you don`t have reservation for place, months ago before Oktoberfest is starting than you will have small problem. The best will be to come early of the day so you can find place for you. But don`t worry you are there for fun to drink beer, eat famous pretzel, Bavarian sausage and other specialties from Germany. Tents are opening for visitors usually at 10:00 am or at 9:00am at weekends and they are closing at 11:30 pm.

Here is some information`s about tents. Armbrustschutzen-Festhalle serves Paulaner beer and they have every year competition in crossbow shooting. Augustiner-Festhalle serves Augustine beer drafted from the wooden traditional barrels. Braurosl serves Hacker-Pschorr beer. Fischer-Vroni serves Augustiner beer and grilled fish is the specialty. Hippodrom serves Spate-Franziskaner beer. Hofbrau-Festzelt serves Hofbrau beer. Kafer`s Wies`n Schanke serves Paulaner beer. Lowenbrau has roaring lion above the main tent and serves Lowenbrau beer. Ochsenbraterei serves Spaten-Franziskaner beer and here whole oxes are grilled. Schottenhamel serves Spaten-Franziskaner beer. Schutzen-Festzelt serves Lowenbrau beer. Weinzelt is the tent for those who prefer champagne and wine and in Winzerer Fahndl serves Paulaner beer.
